A Program That Gives Back —Teaching the Joy of Giving
This winter, The Shed invites your child to join our most meaningful program yet — Shedding Our Light, a service-based holiday experience where joy meets purpose.
Through cooking, creativity, and community service, Shedders will explore what it means to nourish themselves (ME), connect through collaboration (WE), and contribute to their community (US). Each day combines hands-on learning and purposeful giving — helping children discover that even small actions can make a big difference.
A Week of Learning, Connection, and Community Giving: Program Journey
Our Mini Shedders (ages 3–4) program runs as a 1-week experience, while Little Shedders (ages 5–8) and Young Shedders (ages 9–12) join a 3-day experience designed to deepen connection, collaboration, and purpose.
The Shedding Our Light program builds from day to day — guiding Shedders from self-discovery to collaboration, and finally to community action during Friday’s Winter Shed Fest, our celebration of giving back.
Mini and Little Shedders will explore what it means to give through creation — from making festive treats to hosting their own Winter Carnival, with proceeds supporting our sister charity, the More Good Foundation.
Young Shedders will step into the role of young advocates and mentors, helping Mini and Little Shedders prepare for the Carnival while also preparing and packaging over 100 community meal boxes for More Good’s charity partners — learning leadership, empathy, and the true joy of service.
At the end of the week, each Shedder will be awarded a Certificate of Service Participation in recognition of their contribution and community engagement.

Transportation
We provide a private shuttle bus service for pick-ups and drop-offs at the Hong Kong Central Post Office to and from our outdoor activity locations!
For indoor days held at our sister charity, More Good, located in Chai Wan, participants will need to arrange their own transportation there.
