Our Mission
The Shed is a space for children where opportunities for conversations and meaningful encounters can exist.
Our mission aims to empower children to:
Navigate their own identities (ME)
Build meaningful connections with others (WE)
Nurture a strong sense of environmental and global responsibility (US).
ME, WE & US Framework
Our programs and experiences are developed and guided by a simple framework that supports both personal growth and collective well-being.
ME: Building confidence, independence, and self-awareness.
WE: Developing empathy, communication, and meaningful relationships.
US: Understanding our connection to the environment, community, and wider world.
Inspired by educator and author Ash Buchanan’s idea of a Benefit Mindset, we encourage children to think not only about themselves, but also about how their actions impact others and the world around them.
At The Shed, we believe that introducing these ideas to young people early on can help shape the way they understand themselves, others, and the world around them. By fostering a sense of responsibility towards themselves, their communities, and the environment, we hope to empower children to navigate life with greater compassion, awareness, and purpose.
