A Program That Gives Back —Teaching the Joy of Giving
This winter, The Shed invites your child to join our most meaningful program yet — Shedding Our Light, a service-based holiday program where joy meets purpose.
Through cooking, creativity and community service, children spend the week learning to nourish themselves, create alongside others and notice what the people around them need. It all comes together at the Winter Shed Fest, where small actions become something shared.

Program Journey
Over one week, your child explores different themes about care: feeling cared for, caring for others, receiving what nature gives, making something for someone else and, finally, sharing it together. Each one teaches something different, and together they all build toward one shared moment: The Winter Shed Fest.
Mini and Little Shedders (ages 3-8) explore the joy of giving through hands-on creation, from making festive treats and handmade gifts to welcoming guests at the Winter Shed Fest. Proceeds from the Fest support our sister charity, the More Good Foundation.
Young Shedders (ages 9-12) take on the roles of young advocates and mentors, supporting our Mini and Little Shedders as they bring the Fest to life. They also prepare and package over 300 community meal boxes for the More Good Foundation charity partners, putting leadership, empathy and service into action.
To celebrate their contributions, every Shedders in our The Shedding Our Light Programs will receive a Certificate of Service Participation recognising their efforts in giving back to the community.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
• WK 1: Dec 14 - 18 (5-days)
• WK 2: Dec 28 - 31 (4-days)
• Half-day, morning (AM) sessions
• Whole week enrollment is required
• 1:4 mentor to child ratio

Transportation
We provide a private shuttle bus service for pick-ups and drop-offs at the Hong Kong General Post Office, Central to and from our outdoor activity locations!
For indoor days held at our sister charity, More Good, located in Chai Wan, participants will need to arrange their own transportation there.
