-
Requests to reschedule a booking must be made at least four (4) weeks prior to the program start date and are subject to availability.
For approved requests, an administrative fee of HK$500 per program booking being rescheduled will apply.
-
The Shed does not provide refunds, program credits, make-up sessions, or credit for absences due to personal reasons, including illness, injury, travel, or other scheduling conflicts.
Weather + Safety Policies
-
During the hotter months, we thoughtfully select environments and routes that offer shade, water access, and opportunities for beach and water play, helping children stay cool, comfortable, and engaged throughout the day. Our mentors also carry extra water and ensure children take regular hydration and rest breaks throughout the session.
When weather conditions become particularly hot, mentors will guide children to shaded areas, encourage regular hydration, increase the frequency of rest breaks, and adapt activities, routes, and intensity levels to ensure children remain safe, comfortable, and engaged.
As temperatures are typically highest later in the day, additional precautions apply to our afternoon Shedders Program (3-6yo). If temperatures reach 36°C or above, the session will be cancelled to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of the children. Families will be notified at least 1.5 hours prior to the scheduled start time wherever possible.
In this event, families will receive a full credit for the cancelled session, which can be redeemed for another available session during the current holiday program or applied toward the next scheduled holiday program.
-
Where possible, programs will continue to run during an Amber Rainstorm Warning or Typhoon Signal No. 3. The Shed may modify activities, routes, schedules, or relocate to a suitable indoor venue where necessary.
If conditions are deemed unsafe and no suitable alternative is available, the session may be cancelled. Families will be notified as early as possible and, where practicable, at least 1.5 hours before the scheduled start time.
In this event, families will receive a full credit for the cancelled session, which can be redeemed for another available session during the current holiday program or applied toward the next scheduled holiday program.
-
If a Red Rainstorm Warning, Black Rainstorm Warning, or Typhoon Signal No. 8 (or above) is in force prior to the commencement of a session, the session will be cancelled.
Sessions will also be cancelled if the Education Bureau announces the closure of schools.
In these circumstances, no refund, program credit, or make-up session will be issued.
-
If weather conditions deteriorate during a session, The Shed may modify activities, routes, or locations, or end the session early if a Red Rainstorm Warning, Black Rainstorm Warning, or Typhoon Signal No. 8 (or above) is expected.
If a session ends early, children will be escorted to a designated pick-up location and caregivers will be notified as soon as possible. Mentors will remain with all children until they have been safely collected by their authorised caregiver.
In these circumstances, no refund, program credit, or make-up session will be issued.
-
In the event of an injury or medical emergency, The Shed will provide appropriate first aid, arrange transportation to a medical facility, and facilitate emergency treatment as recommended by a qualified medical professional.
The Shed will make all reasonable efforts to contact a parent, caregiver, or emergency contact as soon as practicable.
-
If your child is attending a The Shed program and you reside outside of Hong Kong, The Shed strongly recommends that your child is covered by appropriate travel and/or personal accident insurance for the duration of the program.
Parents and caregivers are responsible for arranging and maintaining any such insurance coverage for their child.
-
If government authorities announce the suspension of activities due to exceptional circumstances beyond standard rainstorm or typhoon warnings, all affected sessions will be cancelled. This includes, but is not limited to, extreme conditions following severe weather, localized severe weather events, transport disruptions, public safety concerns, or other circumstances that may impact the safe operation of programs.
As these closures are outside The Shed’s control and often announced with limited notice, no refund, program credit, or make-up session will be provided for cancellations arising from these circumstances.
Program Policies
-
At The Shed, we strive to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants. Children are encouraged and supported to embody The Shed Agreements throughout their participation in our programs:
Show attentive listening
Show mutual respect
Be attentive, aware, and safe
Use appreciations rather than put-downs
Respect the right of others to participate, and the right to pass
We ask caregivers to support these expectations and work collaboratively with The Shed to reinforce them.
If a child’s behaviour compromises their own safety, the safety of others, or the learning environment, The Shed reserves the right to remove the child from a specific activity, session, or program. In such circumstances, any associated costs, transportation arrangements, or early collection requirements will be the responsibility of the child’s family.
-
The Shed’s programs are experiential, nature-based, and involve active participation in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments. While we take reasonable precautions to provide a safe and supportive learning environment, participation in these activities carries inherent risks that cannot be entirely eliminated. Minor injuries, such as scrapes, bumps, bruises, and insect bites, may occasionally occur as part of normal participation.
Parents and caregivers are responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date information regarding their child’s health, medical conditions, allergies, dietary requirements, and support needs to help us provide a safe and positive experience for all participants. -
All Shed programs are unaccompanied. Children participate independently under the care and supervision of The Shed mentors, and parents, caregivers, and other family members are not permitted to join program activities unless expressly invited by The Shed.
-
To support children’s engagement with the program, personal electronic devices, including mobile phones and smart watches, are not permitted unless otherwise approved by The Shed.
Administration
-
The Shed is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of children, parents, and caregivers. Information collected during enrollment and participation in our programs will be used for the purposes of program administration, participant safety, communication, and service improvement.

The Shed reserves the right to update or amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The most current version will be made available on our website and will supersede all previous versions.
Continued participation in The Shed programs following any updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms & Conditions.
