Program Overview
About This Program
This autumn, Little Shedders (ages 5–8) take on a real project, with more independence — a four-day journey learning about autumn's natural changes through a real harvest, including a harvest and infusion workshop led by Ralphael Holzer— taught by his family, across four generations, how to grow and forage botanicals for their beverages. In small, supported moments, day by day, your child builds toward one shared outcome: The Harvest Feast, made and celebrated together on the final day.
We're also introducing a NEW Sai Kung program this year — a similar four-day journey, through Sai Kung's own coastline and countryside.

Leaf Race at the Stream
Children build their own leaf raft and race it down the cascade, then trace its journey — noticing where it gets caught, pauses, and finds its way forward again.Sharing Circle + Our Roles For the Harvest Feast
Children share a time they fell and found their way forward, then choose their own role in Friday's feast: fire tender, cook, drink mixer, or plate runner. -

At the farm, children harvest sugarcane, lemon, mugwort, and oranges alongside the Holzer team — four generations of herb harvesters — discovering how nature grows and changes in its own time.Children gather the week's harvest together, then slow down to reflect on what rest can make possible.

Led by the Holzer team, children watch yesterday's harvested herbs slowly become something new through a seasonal drink— and reflect on how they, too, are shaped slowly, by everything around them.Patience Stone

Fire Building: What a Fire Needs
Children learn what a fire needs — heat, fuel, air — and build it themselves, inside the ring of stones they shaped earlier in the week. If it falters, they ask: did we fail, or does it just need something? Adjust, rebuild, relight.The Harvest Feast
The group cooks and shares a harvest meal over the fire they built — and before eating, each child shares one fall-rest-grow story from the week, spoken aloud.

Unaccompanied Program
Children participate independently, supported throughout the day by our experienced Shed mentors.
English-Instructed Program
Sessions are conducted in English, so children should have a basic understanding of English to comfortably follow instructions and participate in activities.
