About This Program

This autumn, Mini Shedders (ages 3-4) take on The Cycles That Carry Me — a real project, in small, supported moments — a four-day journey learning about autumn's natural changes through a real harvest, including a wet market visit to choose the week's ingredients and a herb hunt back at More Good. Day by day, your child builds toward one shared outcome: The Harvest Fire Feast, made and celebrated together on the final day.

    Children explore the question: What happens when I let go and rest?

    Wet Market Shopping
    Children shop the Chai Wan wet market with a small budget, choosing what's already ripe and ready — learning the quiet lesson of eating with the season, not against it.

    Herb Hunt + Teddy-Belly Breathing
    Back at More Good, children hunt for herbs by smell and touch, then rest with their bundle on their tummy for five slow breaths — the whole room slowing down together.

    Children explore the question: How do I find my way forward, even when I don't know what's next?

    Leaf Toss at the Stream
    Children toss autumn leaves into the stream, watching them fall, get stuck, then find their way again — a way forward always appears.

    Choosing My Feast Job
    Children choose their own role in the week's harvest — kindling collector, veggie washer, stirrer, taster — a small step taken without knowing how the week unfolds.

    Children explore the question: How does something shaped slowly find its purpose?

    Stone Sort: Smooth and Rough
    Chinese search the streams for stones smoothed by years of moving water, feeling for rough and smooth before choosing a favourite to keep.

    Fire Circle Stones
    Children decorates their stone and adds it to the fire circle basket, ready for Friday’s Harvest fire.

    Children explore the question: How do I make my own warmth after a season of change?

    Kindling Collecting + Cooking
    Children gather kindling for the fire and help wash, stir and plate the harvest food chosen earlier in the week. Every stick, every ingredient — something they gathered, now becoming part of the warmth ahead.

    One Word Share at the Feast
    By the fire they helped build, children taste the feast and share one word about their day, spoken aloud. Families are welcome to join for the final hour, to share in the feast.

Unaccompanied Program

Children participate independently, supported throughout the day by our experienced Shed mentors.

English-Instructed Program

Sessions are conducted in English, so children should have a basic understanding of English to comfortably follow instructions and participate in activities.
