Young Shedders
Summer Camp 2026
ME, WE & US Adventures
For Young Shedders (ages 9–12), our ME, WE & US Adventures is a small-group 3-day program with a 1-night overnight experience, set across our sister charity, More Good in Chai Wan and Saiyuen Campground in Cheung Chau. It is designed for older children ready to build independence and take on greater responsibility through real-world experiences
In this immersive program, children plan and prepare their own meals — budgeting, sourcing ingredients at a local wet market, and cooking together as a group. They also take on shared outdoor challenges such as raft building, rock scrambling, and navigating natural terrain, applying teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience. Through these experiences, children engage with food systems and biodiversity, and reflect on how their actions connect to the wider world — building confidence, resilience, and a deeper sense of responsibility.

Location:
More Good, Chai Wan
Key Activities:
On day 1, children explore questions of independence, responsibility, and community: What feels new or unfamiliar? What challenges me? How do I prepare for what’s ahead?Planning & Preparing for the Journey
Children prepare for their overnight experience by planning their meals — designing a menu, working within a budget, and making group decisions. They then visit a local wet market to source ingredients, observing how food moves through communities and how people interact within these systems. Along the way, they reflect on the differences between wet markets and supermarkets, and what these spaces reveal about how we live and eat.
Cooking, Collaboration & Responsibility
Back at More Good, children prepare and pack their meals together. Through this process, they take ownership of shared responsibilities, navigate challenges, and support one another as a group. This experience builds confidence and practical life skills, while helping children understand their role within a wider system — where their choices, actions, and collaboration impact both their community and environment.
