The ME That Shines: A three-day reflective journey where children explore emotions, values, and personal goals through mindfulness, guided reflection, and journaling. Time spent outdoors supports stillness and focus, helping Young Shedders build self-care tools they can use beyond the program.

LOCATION:
The program is held at various locations in Hong Kong and changes daily. Please refer to the daily schedule HERE and reference the specific days for the activity locations.
TRANSPORT:
For activities held at outdoor locations, a private shuttle bus will transport children to and from the site, with convenient pick-up and drop-off at the Hong Kong Central Post Office.
For Mong Tung Wan days, the drop off and pick up will be at Central Pier No.5 (To Cheung Chau) -

Learning Outcomes
This program supports children ages 9 - 12 in developing self-awareness, emotional regulation, and intentional decision-making through mindfulness, reflection, and time spent in nature.Across the program, children explore their emotions, values, and personal goals, practise calming strategies, and build confidence through self-expression — culminating in a guided journaling reflection that captures their intentions for the year ahead.

Shek O
Activity:
Students explore Shek O through a gentle coastline climb, noticing how their bodies feel as they move and challenge themselves safely. In a calm spot, they reflect through writing or drawing about how they feel and what they did during the climb.In the afternoon, students prepare small farm starter pots and create a “Today Me” nature card, using simple prompts to describe who they feel they are in that moment and how their plant connects to them. The day focuses on self-awareness, effort, and recognising personal strengths.

The Peak and Lung Fu Shan
Activity:
Day two centres on recognising difficult moments and learning practical ways to stay calm under pressure through a challenging hike up to High West. Children reflect on how their bodies and emotions respond to fatigue, frustration, or uncertainty, and practise simple strategies to regulate themselves.
In the afternoon, students complete a partner-based scavenger hunt at Pinewood Battery, exploring historical sites while noticing how different places affect their feelings. They practise simple calming strategies and reflect on which tools helped them most when things felt tense or tricky.

The Shed Retreat @ Mong Tung Wan, Lantau Island
Activity:
Students begin the day with a local market visit, working in small groups to plan purchases, compare prices, and stay within a set budget — noticing how they communicate and make decisions together. At Mong Tung Wan, they reflect on values such as kindness, bravery, and patience through a short shoreline activity.In the afternoon, students prepare a simple meal over the fire, sharing responsibilities and navigating small challenges as a team. The day ends with children creating a Responsibility / Next-Step Card, identifying practical strategies they can use during disagreements or mistakes in everyday life.
