Program Overview

Our Shedders program is an outdoor-only holiday program that keeps children active, curious, and connected to nature. Through daily adventures across Hong Kong, play, and exploration, children build confidence, independence, and a love for the outdoors.

    CLASS SIZE:
    1:4 mentor to child ratio
    NB: A minimum of 6 kids is required for class to run.

    LOCATION:
    The program is held at various locations on Hong Kong Island and changes daily. Please refer to daily schedule HERE for activity locations by day.

    TRANSPORT:
    For activities held at outdoor locations, a private shuttle bus will transport children to and from the site, with convenient pick-up and drop-off at Hong Kong Central Post Office.

    NB: For indoor days held at our sister charity, More Good, located in Chai Wan, participants will need to arrange their own transportation there.

    COST:
    Half-Day Program: $830 per session
    Full-Day Program: $1,370 per session
    *10% for early bird before March 15, 2026
    5% discount when signing up with a friend from March 16, 2026 onwards

Half-Day Program (3-6yo) Schedule

    Pok Fu Lam

    Activity:
    Children spend the day exploring gentle forest trails en route to Pok Fu Lam Reservoir, discovering nature through observation, movement, and play. Along the way, they take part in guided stream climbing, safely navigating rocks and shallow waters while building balance and confidence.

    Children explore the diverse landscapes of Shek O — from rocky coastlines and tidal rock pools to nearby forest trails. Beyond the shoreline, they stay active while building confidence, balance, and environmental awareness in a guided and supportive setting.

    The Peak to Lung Fu Shan

    Activity:
    Peak Forest Adventure & Sky-High Exploration

    Shedders follow shady forest trails at the highest point of The Peak, pausing to notice roots, leaves, and birds before enjoying a snack with sweeping views of Hong Kong below. After their break, they continue exploring together — turning hidden paths, trees, and rocks into a mountain-top adventure playground in the sky

    Pinewood Battery Discovery: History in Nature
    Children explore the tunnels, gun turrets, and ruins of the WWII-era Pinewood Battery in Lung Fu Shan Country Park, discovering how history and landscape intersect while observing how nature has slowly reclaimed the site.

    Activity:
    Peak to Aberdeen: Forest Descent Adventure
    This trail begins at Victoria Peak and descends into Aberdeen Country Park, where Little Shedders explore native trees, plants, and seeds along the way.

    Aberdeen Reservoir Exploration: Flora & Fauna in Focus
    In the afternoon, they continue through the Upper and Lower Aberdeen Reservoirs, enjoying scenic views and observing Hong Kong’s plant and animal life.

    Activity:
    Stream Scramble at Braemar Hill

    Children hike to a unique stream system to explore rock pools and the surrounding ecosystem. Through guided stream scrambling, they safely navigate natural terrain while observing aquatic life, plant habitats, and how water shapes the landscape.

    Red Incense Burney Summit Lookout
    Students continue their hike to the Red Incense Burner Summit lookout, taking in panoramic views while reflecting on how geography, vegetation, and urban development connect across Hong Kong’s landscape.

  • Location:
    Parkview to Tai Tam

    Activity:
    Observing Reservoirs & Natural Water Systems
    Children explore the reservoirs and dam systems of Tai Tam Country Park, learning how engineered water infrastructure supports Hong Kong’s water supply while shaping the surrounding landscape.

    Comparing Natural & Manmade Water Systems
    Through a guided hike to Tai Tam Mound Waterfall, students compare their morning observations of reservoirs with a natural water system. They examine flow, erosion, plant life, and biodiversity, deepening their understanding of how natural and engineered environments differ — and how both impact ecosystems.
