Children work together to create their own simple obstacle course using safe, age-appropriate materials at More Good. They make choices about where things go and how they want to move through the space — climbing, balancing, and exploring at their own pace.Mentors guide gently through simple prompts, encouraging confidence, independence, and self-directed play.
Exploring Flavours & Textures
Children explore different fruits through touch, smell, and taste, noticing what they like and prefer. They then choose their ingredients and blend them into simple fruit purées to make their own tie-dye fruit popsicles.Through this sensory experience, children begin to express preferences, make choices, and build confidence in trying something new.

Using the natural terrain of Lung Fu Shan — from forest slopes to stepping stones — children move through a facilitated obstacle sequence, discovering how their bodies respond to uneven ground. Through this, they build confidence, balance, and body awareness in a natural environment.They then continue along the winding forest trails, hiking uphill through trees and across varied terrain. As they go, children develop a stronger sense of confidence, coordination, and navigation in the outdoors.

Children explore natural materials found along the Shek O coast — shells, kelp, seeds, leaves, and coastal plants. Using simple tools and magnifying glasses, they open, pull apart, and examine what they find.Through this, they notice textures, shapes, and scents, building curiosity and attention to detail in the natural world.

Children reflect on their experience and add their personal mark to the ME section of The Shed’s Summer Totem — a shared piece that captures each child’s perspective.Over time, they return to add to the WE and US sections, creating a lasting record of how they grow and see the world across the summer.

Stream Rock Hunt
After crossing, children explore the stream as a group — searching for something smooth, patterned, unexpected, and alive.They call out discoveries, help one another reach tricky spots, and bring their findings back to share — learning that exploration is richer when done together.

Children take turns measuring, mixing, and kneading a shared batch of dough — learning to wait, share, and keep going even when it feels challenging.The dough they make becomes the bread for a sandwich workshop later in the week, helping them see how their shared effort contributes to something meaningful.
